Jana & JS
Duo d’artistes franco-autrichien, Jana & JS travaillent à quatre mains depuis plus de 10 ans.
Inspirés par la ville et son architecture en perpétuelle mutation, mais aussi par ceux qui la vivent et l'observent, ils peignent des paysages urbains, de simples détails d'architecture et des portraits dans des jeux de miroirs, de transparence et de mise en abîme.
Ils utilisent la technique du pochoir, développé auprès de l’artiste Artiste-Ouvrier au sein du collectif WCA, reposant exclusivement sur leur travail photographique.
Leur travail s'inscrit aussi bien dans l'espace urbain que dans des lieux d'expositions fermés. Ils sont présents sur de nombreux murs en France, Italie, Autriche, Angleterre, Espagne, Roumanie, Slovaquie, États-Unis, Russie.
Depuis leur atelier, ils utilisent de multiples matériaux, du bois, du béton, de l’acrylique pour développer une œuvre d’une grande exigence plastique à la poésie délicate.
Ils vivent désormais à Salzbourg en Autriche après avoir passé quelques années à Madrid et Paris. Ils collaborent avec plus d'une douzaine de galeries dans le monde, tant en France, qu'aux États-Unis, en Angleterre ou en Allemagne.
As a Franco-Austrian artist duo, Jana & JS have been working together for more than 10 years.
Inspired by the city and its ever-changing architecture, as well by those who live and observe it, they paint cityscapes, simple architectural details and portraits, playing with effects such as mirrors, transparency and abyss.
From their workshop, they use multiple materials, from wood to concrete and acrylic, to develop a work of great plastic requirement with delicate poetry. They use the stencil technique, developed with the artist Artiste-Ouvrier and the WCA collective, based exclusively on their photographic work.
Their work can be found in urban spaces as well as in exhibitions. They are present on many city walls in France, Italy, Austria, England, Spain, Romania, Slovakia, United States, Russia. They now live in Salzburg, Austria after having spent a few years in Madrid and Paris. They collaborate with more than a dozen galleries around the world, in France, the United States, England and Germany.
